Singapore Airlines' flight 153 from Jakarta burst a tyre when it landed at Changi Airport on Saturday afternoon leading to the runway being closed for a while.
Three flights were diverted to Batam and Kuala Lumpur.
No one was injured.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore told Channel NewsAsia the incident happened at the airport's Runway 2 at about 2.40pm.
Flights due to arrive around that time were diverted when the runway was closed for 15 minutes to clear the debris from the burst tyre.
Cathay Pacific's flight 739 from Hong Kong, and Valuair's flight 301 from Bangkok were sent to Batam, while Sri Lankan Air's flight 312 from Kuala Lumpur was re-routed back there.
All three returned to Singapore almost three hours later at 5pm.
CAAS says Changi Airport's second runway had been closed for scheduled maintenance at that time. - CNA /ch
