Singapore's Tiger Airways to add Cambodia to flight network
SINGAPORE : Singapore low-fare carrier Tiger Airways said on Tuesday it will launch daily flights to Cambodia shortly once it has secured approval from the country's regulatory authorities.
It has already obtained permission from the Singapore government to fly to Cambodia, said Tiger Airways, which is aggressively expanding its regional network.
"This is an important development in the expansion of our regional route network as it gives us more efficiency in the use of our aircraft which will enable us to continue offering the lowest fares," chief executive Tony Davis said in a statement.
A Tiger Airways spokesman told AFP the carrier was hopeful of a favourable reply from the Cambodian authorities.
In the same statement, the Singapore Airlines-backed carrier also announced it has secured additional traffic rights to fly from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's southern metropolis.
It will increase its flights to Ho Chi Minh City to six flights weekly from four currently, starting October.
Tiger, which is 49-percent owned by Singapore Airlines, currently flies from Singapore to Thailand, Vietnam, Macau, the Philippines and Indonesia.
