Lorry rams into army truck at Changi, injuring 17 air force

SINGAPORE: A lorry rammed into an army truck on Friday morning, injuring 17 air force men.
Channel NewsAsia understands that faulty brakes on the lorry caused the accident at the traffic lights on the junction of Changi Coast Road and Tanah Merah Coast Road.
The accident also involved a pile-up with two other lorries in front.
The Defence Ministry said all 17 officers on board the army truck were on their way to Changi Air Base East for a change of duty when the accident happened.
The 17 were sent to Changi General Hospital and all except two were given outpatient leave.
One of them was admitted for a cheek injury and the other, a leg fracture. - CNA/ir
