SINGAPORE : Transport Minister Yeo Cheow Tong has appointed Mr Gerard Ee as the Chairman of the Public Transport Council for a two-year term from August 28.
Mr Ee is also the President of the Automobile Association of Singapore. He takes over from Mr Eric Gwee, who has chaired the Council since 1989.
Mr Leslie Chew will replace outgoing Deputy Chairman Michael Gray, who has been on the Council since 1991.
A Transport Ministry statement said Mr Ee had served on the Council since 2003. He was a key member of the recent Fare Review Mechanism Committee.
The Ministry thanked Mr Gwee and Mr Gray for their many years of dedicated service to the Council.
