DPM Tan to retire from Cabinet on 1 Sep: PM Lee

Deputy Prime Minister Tony Tan, who is also the Coordinating Minister for Security and Defence, will retire from the Cabinet on 1 September.
DPM and Law Minister Professor S Jayakumar will take on the additional responsibility of Coordinating Minister for National Security.
Wong Kan Seng will become DPM while continuing to be the Home Affairs Minister.
A new face - MP Gan Kim Yong - will be appointed Minister of State for Education and Manpower, from 1 October.
These changes were announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in a statement on Saturday.
PM Lee thanked Dr Tan for his many years of service to the Government and the nation. - CNA/ir -
