SINGAPORE : The Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board on Tuesday apologised for a mistake in a question in this year's PSLE Mathematics paper.
Many students were stumped by Question 13 which asked students to calculate the area of a rectangle, based on given dimensions of two triangles.
In a statement, the Board says although the answer can be worked out using the given data, the question itself was flawed.
The mistake lies in an inconsistency between the dimensions of the rectangle and the areas of the two triangles.
Based on this data, it says "it is mathematically not possible to draw such a figure."
The Board says it will give two marks to all students, irrespective of their answers. - CNA/de
