Maersk and P&O merger - Service changes

  As far as South East Asia is concerned
  
  There will be changes to port calling notation
  
  Asia - Europe Svs
  
  AE1 - It will drop Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) for Eastbound while adding Singapore. Westbound remains calling PTP
  
  AE2 - Same as AE1
  
  AE3 - Same as AE6
  
  AE5 - Both Singapore and PTP (East) and PTP (West)
  
  AE6- Still calls PTP bth bounds
  
  AE7 - Totally dropped calling PTP
  
  AE9 (New) - Eastbound calls PTP, Westbound calls SG and PTP
  
  AE10 (New) - Eastbound calls Singapore, Westbound calls PTP
  
  Australia - Far East Svs
  
  All will make Singapore for additional calls, others remain unchanged
  
  Africa - Asia Svs
  
  EAF5 (New) - Calls PTP
  
  Sarfari 1 (New) - Calls PTP (East and West) and Singapore (East)
  
  Sarfari 2 (New) - Calls PTP and Singapore (South East Asia - Africa Sv)
  
  WAF10 (New) - Not complete
  
  Far East - Middle East Svs
  
  FM2 (New) - Calls PTP (West) and Laem Chabang (West)

  Actually Maersk dun seem to care of their stakes in PTP anymore.. In fact, such callings notation as stated abv might mean they wanna go to where more cargoes are at

  Now Maersk seems to have decided to shift Port Klang's terminal operator from Westport to Northport. Westport is not scared and even said bth operator should cooperate as they have lost container volumes to PSA Singapore as shippers have consolidated SEA hub operations in Singapore since SG fights back
  
  However, it may have nothing to do with Nth's links with PTP via a invesment co...
  
  If that's the case, they would not have added 100% calls to SG terminal
  
  Anyway, the reports made by MY press has revealed Malaysians unwillingness to admit defeat. Still say Johor port's growth is 5% when 0.06M TEU increase meant 2% growth... Which makes it the slowest growing SEA port... Still they say is the fastest

  It seems that Maersk is moving major Europe - Asia Eastbound route back to PSA Terminal could have been caused by the Johor's port inability to handle large cargoes carried aft the merger

  From March: Antwerp - PSA - PTP - Ho Chi Minh (There are direct svs to Ho Chin Minh from PSA Terminal) (More by 2 days)
  
  Kuching - Dalian
  
  Currently: Kuching - PSA - PTP - Dalian
  
  From March: Kuching - PSA - PTP - PSA - Dalian (By 2 weeks more)
  
  Buenos Aires - Port Klang/ Jakarta/ Ho Chin Minh
  *This is rather sticky, though there are direct svs from Buenos Aires to Singapore for transhipment within 35 - 38 days, Maersk simply choses to transhipment via PTP which is a longer rt, taking 7 days more
  
  South East Asia bound feeders are more screwed, simply wanting to make the cargo be handled at least once via PTP, resulting in 2-3 day delays

  The 1st ship, GUNVOR MAERSK has started its trip from Gothenburg, Sweden... Changes to AE1 include the use of Maersk's largest ships and changing port calls to PSA Singapore instead of Tanjung Pelepas

  Yet from Argentina to Tanjung Pelepas (Tranship via Gioia Tauro) takes 44 days

  Flaw - There is direct feeder service bet Singapore and Laem Chabang provided by SAFmarine
  
  Example 2: Haldia (West Bengal), India - Qingdao, China
  
  Haldia - Malaysia Tanjung Pelepas - Singapore PSA Terminal - Qingdao
  
  Flaw: MCC Tpt provides Haldia - Tanjung Pelepas - PSA - Haldia service
  
  Example 3: Jakarta, Indonesia - Hong Kong, HK
  
  Jakarta - Singapore PSA Terminal - Malaysia Tanjung Pelepas - Hong Kong
  
  Flaw: There is direct AE5 service from Singapore - Hong Kong
