Early morning fire destroys six shops on Bangkit Road

Fire damaged a row of shops at Block 260 on Bangkit Road early Friday morning.
The six units affected in the 1.30am fire were a provision shop, a grocery shop, a mini-mart, a towel shop, a hair dressing saloon and a mattress shop.
The fire also destroyed storage units outside the shops as well as a tent erected over the walkway.
Fire fighters took 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
There were no casualties.
The Civil Defence Force says the cause of the fire is being investigated. - CNA/ir -
i pity the shop owners. a few of them has no fire insurance.
