The Filipino maid charged with killing her close friend and fellow maid in Singapore has been sentenced to 10 years in jail.
Guen Garlejo Aguilar, 29, was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The jail term has been backdated to the date of her arrest on 10 September 2005.
Aguilar had earlier pleaded guilty to smothering and strangling Jane La Puebla to death.
She later chopped the body up into six parts.
The head and limbs were found near the Orchard MRT station and at MacRitchie reservoir.
Aguilar had said that the many hours after La Puebla's death were a blur.
She "vaguely remembers putting the body in a luggage bag".
But the statement of facts showed that she kept the body for two days before buying a chopper, axe, gloves, detergent and garbage bags to dismember and dispose of it later.
Aguilar appeared composed and unemotional when the sentence was passed.
Her husband and sister were also present in court.
The defence lawyer asked for 5 minutes after the judgement for the family to see her before they fly back to the Philippines on Tuesday morning.
The Mayor of Aguilar's hometown, Mr Roque Versosa, said that Aguilar had entrusted him to look after her two boys, aged 6 and 7 years old, who are kept in the dark since the murder took place. - CNA/ir
