3 S'poreans arrested for involvement in kidnapping case in Selangor
SINGAPORE: Police have arrested 3 Singaporeans for their involvement in a kidnapping case in Selangor on 30 June.
The 3 men were detained early Thursday morning, after the ransom money was picked up by one of them in the Choa Chu Kang housing estate on Wednesday.
The hostage, a Malaysian man in his 60s, was then released unharmed in Selangor a few hours later.
Cooperating closely on the case, Malaysian and Singapore Police then mounted several raids, arresting 3 Malaysian men in Malaysia and the 3 Singaporeans here.
Two of the Singaporeans, aged 28 and 35, were arrested in a house in Jalan Dinding, off Woodlands Road, at 3am on Thursday.
The third Singaporean, a 33-year-old man, was detained at Tuas checkpoint an hour later.
Nearly all the ransom money was recovered from the 3 Singaporean suspects.
Investigations into the case are still in progress. - CNA /dts
