  people died using their products, instead of scrambling resources to get things right, they rather spend time and money on defending national pride
  
  when SARS broke out in 2003, they denied, covered up and what, while smaller countries like Vietnam and Singapore took the painful ways out and clamp down on everything till they are declared safe
