Crazy, Malaysia is the world's largest producer of palm oil which makes vegetable cooking oil
Yet there can be shortage of supply... -

It's way below market price, so I believe those manufacturers rather sell it to other countries
It has happened to sugar and diesel... Tat time M'sians kpkb no sugar, yet we still see supplies of KSL sugar in Singapore sent by KTM trains

no matter how ex palm oil is now, we are willing to buy at market price... so we would still get supplies of it
though it means things gets more costlier -
