SINGAPORE : Officers from the Singapore Department of Statistics will be conducting the Household Expenditure Survey in 10 towns next month.
The survey groups will cover Bedok, Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Dover, Geylang, Ghim Moh, Marine Parade, Punggol, Sengkang and Yishun from August 4—18.
This is part of the ninth Household Expenditure Survey being carried out from October 2007 to September 2008.
The results of the survey are used for updating the weighting pattern and basket of goods and services used in compiling the Consumer Price Index.
The survey is carried out under the Statistics Act (Chapter 317).
All information provided by respondents will be treated with the strictest confidence and used for statistical purposes only.
Officers from the Department of Statistics will visit selected households personally to conduct the survey. All of the officers will carry identification cards and letters of authorisation.
