Muslims in S'pore preparing to usher in Hari Raya on Wed
SINGAPORE: Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, Yaacob Ibrahim
has called on the Muslim community to work together to support capacity
building efforts.
In his traditional Hari Raya message, Dr Yaacob said recent changes to
the Mosque and Mendaki Building Fund are aimed at strengthening the
community's institutions such as mosques and madrasahs.
Muslims in Singapore are busy making preparations to usher in Hari Raya on Wednesday which marks the end of the fasting month.
The Geylang Serai market was a bustle of activities with many last minute shoppers.
Over at Geylang bazaar, business was somewhat affected by recent economic uncertainties.
Retailers had to slash prices to entice shoppers who were spending less on festive goods. - CNA/vm
