Singapore's key exports contracted for a seventh consecutive month in November, as the global economic slowdown cut away at external demand.
IE Singapore says non-oil domestic exports or NODX declined 17 percent from a year ago, worse than what some economists predicted.
It said the cause was lower electronic and non-electronic exports.
Non-electronic exports decreased by 18 per cent in the month, following the 16 per cent decline in October.
IE Singapore says the contraction in non-electronic exports was led by reduced domestic exports of pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, primary chemicals and electrical circuit apparatus.
Exports to all of the top 10 markets decreased in November.
The largest contributors to the decline were the European Union, the US and China.
