We advice the public going down for the events to be patient and calm, and to follow the signs and directions that we put up. Please look for directions given by the marshals and the police officers at the scene. For those who are driving, we ask the motorists to not stop when the fire works start as this will pose a danger to the motorists behind them. Police will not hesitate to take action against their vehicles on the road to watch the fireworks display, causing obstruction to other drivers."
For those of you who want to avoid the crowds, there are seven recommended free public viewing areas to catch the fireworks displays.
These include the Singapore Flyer, Esplanade Waterfront, Merlion Park and One Fullerton.
