A woman was charged on Thursday with abusing her Indonesian maid.
Koh Siew Kiang, 42, a shipping controller, is alleged to have knocked the head and pulled the hair of Ms Kusmiati at her home in Eunos Crescent on July 4 last year.
At about midnight, she allegedly opened the bathroom door and stared at the 25-year-old while she was about to dress with intent to cause her distress.
She also allegedly kicked the domestic worker on the right upper arm at around 1am.
Two other charges accuse her of pulling the victim's hair and using a hairbrush to hit her on the head.
If convicted, she can be jailed for up to three years and/or fined up to $7,500 on each maid abuse charge.
She will be back in court on Aug 12.
