SINGAPORE: Disgruntled members of the Raffles Town Club (RTC) are back in court for what should be the last chapter in a landmark legal battle.
This latest hearing is to decide the amount of damages the club will have to pay them.

The saga dates back two years ago when some 5,000 RTC members sued the management after learning the so-called "exclusive and premier" club actually had almost 19,000 members.
Fed up with over-crowded swimming pools and restaurants, the disgruntled members sued for misrepresentation and breach of contract in the largest class action suit in Singapore.
They lost the initial case but on appeal last year, the Court ruled in favour of the members, saying there was no misrepresentation but there was a breach of contract.
Their lawyers are now back in court to decide the amount of damages.
Members, who forked out about $400 each to fight the case, are hoping to claim between $17,000 and $22,000 each in damages.
The case has been set for two weeks.
Right now, lawyers for the RTC members are putting forward expert witnesses to bolster their case.
Their submissions should be over in a week, after which the RTC will take over to give its side of the picture. - CNA
