  until you need the plates, keep them as ores.. uses less space.. you can turn ores into plates by going to Perion and getting one of the 2 weirdos, up there to do so...
  
  i think the guy's name is Mr Thunder or something... he's got an apprentice who can make gloves and turn firewood into processed wood...
