When I was much younger, my gangster friends were all wearing this pendant. They told me it's the Thai "Fighter" buddha and it will bestow strength and courage upon the owner.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:What is that? Sorry but I'm not familiar with Thai terms.
But if it's some kind of amulets, it is definitely not of orthodox Buddhist origins but of Thai/Brahmanistic origins.
Native Thai (to be exact, through the Brahmanism influence) has a culture of amulets and even dealing with spirits. This is something that Thai Buddhists should not focus too much on, but instead on his practise of dhamma & liberation.
Oh I see... Well, Thai traditions have a large varieties of amulets which I'm not knowledgeable in.Originally posted by F Takumi:When I was much younger, my gangster friends were all wearing this pendant.
