Not sure why, but my Master Chin Kung had sent out an important message from Hong Kong, wanting PL cultivators (or Buddhist or anyone) from NOW onward for 24 hours to honestly and sincerely recite Amitabha/Amituofo/Om Mani Padma Hum (or any mantra or pray)!
Someone told me He 'sensed' that there *could* be a disaster coming.

Maybe he's too worried because I think it's really bad too...
Maybe you can tell him to go and find the "source" and do some rituals

Beliefs that are contrary to the law of kamma
There are three philosophies which are considered by Buddhism to be wrong view and which must be carefully distinguished from the teaching of kamma:
1. Pubbekatahetuvada: The belief that all happiness and suffering arise from previous kamma (Past-action determinism).
2. Issaranimmanahetuvada: The belief that all happiness and suffering are caused by the directives of a Supreme Being (Theistic determinism).
3. Ahetu-apaccayavada: The belief that all happiness and suffering are random, having no cause (Indeterminism or Accidentalism).
"Bhikkhus, of those three groups of ascetics and Brahmins, I approach the first group and ask, 'I hear that you uphold this teaching and view ... Is that so?' If those ascetics and Brahmins, on being thus questioned by me, answer that it is so, then I say to them, 'If that is so, then you have killed living beings as a result of kamma committed in a previous time, have stolen as a result of kamma done at a previous time, have engaged in sexual misconduct ... have uttered false speech ... have held wrong view as a result of kamma done in a previous time.'
"Bhikkhus, adhering to previously done kamma as the essence, there are neither motivation nor effort with what should be done and what should not be done ... Not upholding ardently what should be done, nor abandoning what should be abandoned, those ascetics and Brahmins are as if deluded, lacking a control, incapable of having any true teaching. This is our legitimate refutation of the first group of ascetics and Brahmins holding these views.

Remember about half a year back, Lama Zopa Rinpoche warned that there will be a big earthquake happening in California this year? http://buddhism.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=112440 and advised everyone to take steps to minimise the effects (pls check the url for more info)

Apparently what they did minimised the effects of the earthquake, which came a month ago at a much less destructive scale at a richter scale 7.2. Still, it has been the largest earthquake in California for many many years.

As for Master Chin Kung's warning, I suspect maybe it got to do with the pig borne disease, since it also affected Hong Kong and China Mainland. But it is just a guess, I'm not The Oracle

That say greed is the cause of water element based disaster (eg floods); hatred is the cause of fire element based disaster (eg volcano eruptions, global warming), folly is the cause of wind element based disaster (eg tornados); selfish, instability of human mind is the cause of earth element based disaster (eg earthquakes).
btw im taking about collective karma. Just like meat eating/killing is the collective cause of wars (dao1 bing1 jie2). If people were to stop killing, war will also stop.
Relatively Our body is a small world system, when we get angry, our body also heats up and when we fear of losing, the body feel cold. Same work for the globe. The 3 posions are like interrelated.

Thus heard that MCK is going to stay in HK for a very long time, maybe 10 years. Saying that if there's going to be a disaster there, He's going to stay to finish lecturing the Hua Yen Sutra. And i think by staying there, He will 'bless' the place. MCK is so compassionate. He's not even afraid of dying.

How nice of Master Chin Kung! Master Chin Kung used to hint that he will pass away within 1 year (in 2006), now he has lengthened due to the request of all of us in samsara.

That is truely the act of a Boddhisatva. I guess what we could help too is to practice harder and keep the peace in our mind.
