The Disbelievers
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
[109.1] Say: O unbelievers!
[109.2] I do not serve that which you serve,
[109.3] Nor do you serve Him Whom I serve:
[109.4] Nor am I going to serve that which you serve,
[109.5] Nor are you going to serve Him Whom I serve:
[109.6] You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion. -
Good! Hopefully all muslims will take note of these, let there be peace.
Buddhists generally do not convert people nor evangelise their teachings, but rather we are be peaceful and tolerant towards all others... part of the reason why there was religious wars in Buddhism in history. -

Shaykh al-Shanqeeti (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"He whom Allaah guides, he is the rightly-guided; but he whom He sends
astray, for him you will find no Wali (guiding friend) to lead him (to
the Right Path)"[al-Kahf 18:17]
In this aayah, Allaah explains that guidance and misguidance are in His
hand alone; whomsoever He guides none can lead astray, and whomsoever
He sends astray, none can guide. This meaning is also expressed in many
other aayahs, such as the following (interpretation of the meaning):

Kalama Sutra
"Rely not on the teacher/person, but on the teaching. Rely not on the words of the teaching, but on the
spirit of the words. Rely not on theory, but on experience.Do not believe in anything simply because you
have heard it. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. Do
not believe anything because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything because it is
written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and
elders. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is
conducive to the good and the benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

so often do we see practitioners of many different religions get caught up with the superiority of their own beliefs that their minds become closed .... their faith becomes blind, and they end up simply going through the motions .... sad -
Narrow-mindedness is a hindrance towards the path of great compassion.

i just started reading this short book by John Snelling, on Way of Buddhism
Its interesting what he wrote on organised religions in the world, that after some time they become dogmatic and hold narrow, sometimes insistent views
however, these also signal the decline of these organised religion, as people are disillusioned, like the kalamas.. -
