Listening is a very good idea. T'is what the disciples of Buddha did. They LISTEN to Buddha expound the Dharma and stop their wandering/anyhow thinking mind, hence they are called the Hearers. To shut the ear is to shut the mind.
Another key point is to focus on one path. It's like digging for water, if keep digging on many spots, you delay finding water. Try to concentrate on one path. eventually, to know one is to know all.
listen to one Master talks for 5 years, to still the mind, then you can move on to listen to other masters. if not, you will get confuse easily.
i recommend Master Chin Kung. There are enough to occupy a lifetime of audio!

No need to try to understand what He say. Just relax and listen, eventually, it'll 'click'!
