A question. The cristian thank God for their good health, life or luck. How about us, budists? who should we thank for our lives and the good things we might get? Give me your opinions.

There is a lot of people to thank! Not only Buddhas.. Bodhisattvas... for teaching us the dharma, but also our parents, our teachers, those who supported us, in fact Buddhism teaches that we should be grateful towards every single sentient beings in the universe! Even the food you eat are the hard work of so many people.

Thanks for the answer. I sincerely thinks this way, I use to thank Buda and the Bodhisattvas, Devas and Brahmas as well for everything I´ve got. Nam-Myoho-Rengue-Kyo

Hi, do you practise the chanting of the Daimoku?

Haha. I feel that we should thank all the people around us (because in one way or another they affect our life) for being nice to us or at least not inflicting harm on us. But, even if they do, just take it as a time to rethink of whether you have done something wrong (and how you could correct that) or just ensure you don't do what he/she has done to you as you know the hurt that it might cause others -- Take it as a lesson learnt and do not let hatred/unhappiness arise. Also you should thank yourself for not doing things that bring about bad events onto yourself... And important of all, to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who taught us how we could develop our wisdom such that whatever we do, we bring good to us and the people around.

I agree... They are our Shan(4) Zhi(1) Shi(4). A smile of thanks or a smile to whoever you meet will change one's mood for the better --- isn't that a good practice ? So start smiling now

Yes.. not only that, Smiling is a form of giving and generosity.
When we give others a smile, it is also a form of giving. This is indeed a very simple thing to do, which does not cost time and money! And, when others reciprocate, it is such a comfortable thing! - Ven Shen Kai
Generosity is very wide and vast, a smile is a simple act of giving, a good start to practise Generosity.
