Can we eat 'ye3 wei4?

I know we cannot bring or eat beef into the house that worshipped 'Guan Yin' God. But can we eat 'ye3 wei4'? E.g. rabbit, snake. Or even 'shan1 rui4'? I heard we cannot eat 'quil egg too. Is it true?

if you are talking about vegetarian buddhist, then no meat mean no meat already, be it 'shan zhen hai wei' or 'ye3 wei4', all refrain. restriction or precepts is our way of practicing non pamperness. more pampered people are, more anyhow they do things.
we believe meat eating is the original cause of war (dao bing jie)! in another word revenge.
btw, gluttony is one of X'ian sin also.

What if I am not a vegetarian. Neither I am Buddist. But I am worshipping 'Guan Yin' God at home. Do I have any refrain in eating some things at home?
I ask this is because one of my family members has serious asthma. And I heard croc meat can cure asthma. So thinking of giving ip a try. But heard from others that I cannot do so... -

If you want to learn from Guan Yin and have great compasion, then you should learn to be a full time vegetarian. If not, at least eat from '5 Clean Sources of Meat'.
As for relation of Guan Yin and cows.... The story about Guan Yin and cow is a myth.
Another note for 5 clean sources of meat - ordering live seafood or in fact any live animals (ye3 wei4 also) is violating the third rule:
(3) That the slaughter was not committed for his sake -

from the medical side of Buddhism, below are some cause related illness to our 5 precepts:Killing cause liver & eyes illness.
May try asking the person to observe non-stealling next time. You cure the mind, you cure the body. no need to eat croc meat.
Intoxication cause heart & mouth illness.
Lust cause kidney & ear illness.
Unwholesome Speech cause spleen & tougue illness.
Stealing cause lung & nose illness.
Also if disturb other cultivate spiritual mediataion or praying, cause craziness. --- Mo He Zhi Guan

My Master was an expert on medicinal herbs since he was a child... he once said "all plants has its own (beneficial) purpose, even if it is poisonous, or else it wont have existed". I also heard he wrote a book on herbs and its uses, and was very very effective. But I don't know where is the book
Maybe with the monks at Ci Guang Shan monastery... although we have not been in contact with them anymore.
Killing animals and then eating meat, is one possible reason why a person may have alot of illness. Therefore it is generally not advisable. -
