Will I have good karma...???
things are not as good when i did something good.....and although i am not discourage by it...but i don understand why....
i have done good for my friends, always very understanding but...
1) Despite i don have much money, I loan my friend who i know more than 3 yrs and we are so best friend, $1,000 cos she don have money to pay for her car instalment, (she is in sales line and are not employed at that moment.) I use my little gal's saving to lend her...but when i asked for it after 1 yr she didnt even reply...worse cut off all the contacts.....i sms and email her if she cant i don mind but at least let me know what happen....so in the end i LOSE a Friend.....hai.....
cant help that we are so close in the past and now she is like that.
2) Out of good heart, my friend want to invest on something, she asked me to help her pay part payment of it. don know if i am too good hearted, i paid using my credit card....then after few months i asked for it. she said she don have money to pay, worse she give me the goods she invested to me and asked me to sell to get back my money....hai....what a friend rite??? what can i do.....
3) another friend of mine and her hubby is staying at my place which i usually don like to rent out for other. She really in need of a place to stay and are looking for a rent house from govt. She went to look for MP and everything is fine....but cos my house got 'Ghost' (up to you to believe) she is being disturbed by it.......and i bring her to the Shi fu, need to do something and i got to pay for it....althou i willing to pay for it...but i think....why....i always got into all these cos out of goodwill.....
any good karma for me??? even don have, can stop all the bad things from happening.....
I do pray hard now.....chanting.......and look forward to my good life next time.... -
How do you define good or bad karma? Do we possess the ability to judge?
I am not sure too, coz sometimes people look at a chain of events and are able to see whether they earn good karma
How about the implicit consequences, the indirect impact, the unseen events caused by your actions? -
It's best not to think it's good or bad. Things are the way it should be. Be it good or bad. But when doing it, use you wisdoms to assist you.
1. Car Loan, actually I think you should not lent her. Cause it's boosting her ego. You actually should advice if cannot afford let it go.
2. Friend's investment. Same here, you are boosting her ego. If she cannot afford let the chance goes. It's not her $.
3. This one very hard to say. But should herself have done something to that Ghost or what that gain the trouble.
Best is not get too much involved in things that in turns hurts oneself (others or yourself). Weather it hurts orthers or yourself, it's not that good right?? -

To lend them money is a choice. It is a series of events which led to this choice but you made the decision. Not to wonder if we get good karma from such actions but to learn from the results. Having compassion does not mean we are fools. To help does not mean just lending money, we can find other alternatives like getting them better jobs etc.
I don't think these are bad things happening, cos you have a choice of how to deal with it. Just apply a little bit more wisdom and you'll see other ways to help. It's not like some sickness or something which is beyond human help. Anything which is related to money is never a problem. It's not whether one is rich or not, it's whether one is contented or not. -

In all e abv so called "disaster", "wrong-doings" tat have happened to u, u r e HELPER, meaning u r e good guy giving aid to those pple who needs ur help. N all these pple needed $$ from u to solve their prob.
Its e lightest (n best) of all bad karma tat 1 can Xperience or I shd say u shd consider urself lucky to hav gotten e "Best of the Worst" Karma
All of us will encounter disasters in life that we wld consider as karma brought from e wrong-deeds we had done in our previous life. So in tis life, w wld hav to bear e bad karma our previous life hav collected n passed on to us. And some pple can xperience karma as worst as terminal illness (many, not few); family break-up; long depression; mental illness etc , - all NON - MONETARY loss but LOSS of THEIR HEALTH & sense of well-being.
So for e thread poster, e morale of e above explanation of karma to ur "qian cai zao yu" (money disaster) is insignificant compared to those many pple out there who r xperiencing n constantly battling karma tats 100X more horrific n traumatic than urs..
$$ is e root of all evil...nv be attached to it, once attached, greed arises, and once greed arises, u become a slave to $$$. N all ur problems n woes will all be linked or due to ur attachment to $$.
NEVER allow urself to be a slave to $$, Always be it master n treat it as a tool..
$$$ lost can b earned back, but not necessary health or even loss of loved ones.
So b contented dat u hav a pretty good past life tat allowed such light karma to befall u. Look hard ard urself.. n u will feel tat u r so fortunate.
As for those frens who owed u $$, nv returned bk, they r creating bad karma for their next life n most prob will Xperience e very same situation u r in in tis life..pple owe them $$ n nv return bk.
As e saying: "Wat Goes Ard Comes Ard.."
So let go of these hatred n $$ pain...n move on, go earn bk those $$ is wat u shd do..

I don hate anyone or blame anyone, just don understand doing good things in the end i got into troubles myself...
anyway, i have let go already since it happened last years and of course i move on with my life....
just want to know if i am doing the right things so that i wont make the same mistake again...maybe i should lent any money or be careful next time when wanted to help others..... -
should be good karma. however if you are looking forward for a reward, it would have to depends, if the money u gave them is because in the pervious life, u own them wan then the karma is neutralize or pay off. but if this is the first time, they borrow, then next time, they will have to pay back to you. but however, if you can really really let it go, then next time, u would not look for them to pay you. the karma is also neutralize.
Letting go is the way to nirvana, and escape suffering samsara!

well, trust a friend and lending $ is 2 different issue
after many lesson, i think i only can lend him 20% of what he/she need
becos as long as the amount is big , it is hard to get back from that person
unless he/she is a responsible person , i dun think lending that amt is appropriate .
I do feel that the 3rd one is a good merit, which u have done a meritorious act
and now i dare not flaunt wealth to other to send the wrong signal
I think as sincere Buddhist , we should also be careful with $
try to get out of debts fast and get savings for those unexpected rainy days
actually my feelings also ,when ppl dont reciprocate the kindness , feel kinda of sad that person can lauff away that when i approach him/her for $
well, just take it as u owe him in the past bah, and let go of attachment ,he/she will get sneered off in future for betrayal of trust -

This could be a one time off, if you put it to a stop by using little widom to judge it. Or it may snow ball to even a bigger problem ahead. Please do not use your emtional judgement, as it does not applied here.
You have done what you can do, so as long as, you have did your best to acknowledge to help it is ok. Let it go.
You may not gain any merit here It is not for 'us' to judge. It could only be 'repaying-off ' your friend. Your outcome could turn to be a'positive' or 'negative' note. May suggest to just let it go and dun harbour over it as it will obstruct your mind from being develop. In short, dun be taken back by such 'unfavourable' events.
People who are emtional always taken for a ride. But someone with a compassionate heart will have little wisdom on what are the consequences or outcome.
In event of a reoccurance, may suggest you to hold your horses back, consider it and suspend your judemental option. Ask 'yourself' what if this problem is infront of Lord Buddha? How will he resolved it?
There are always options in life. Many means to survival. You will have to help your 'friends' to exploit further. 'We have to teach them how to fish, if not, we will become the fishery, they will only help themselve out to the fish'.
