Being a pro or professional in something means having the expertise or knowledge in that field, so acting pro means acting as if they have knowledge or expertise in something. If you are saying they are acting pro, by implication you mean they actually do not possess that knowledge.

This all boils down to the word "pro". In other countries I don't know, but in Singapore, the word "pro" is often used to mean people who are skillful, or expert. A pro soccer player does not have to have tons of knowledge about soccer history or whatever. He just plays. Looking at my topic title, don't you think this is in context of Singlish? -

The average joe know the acrobat has fallen off, and this whole thing got nothing to do with acrobatic skills. The average joe, like every other average joe, clearly knows the law of gravity.
This is where people use analogies to fool everyone. IF you are talking about laws of gravity alone, pulling in a character of a master acrobat is just to fool everyone to think how easy it is to look at an issue.
If you are talking about acrobatic skills, then the issue is entirely different. Its about how an average joe know some bit about a complex skill.
