Killing of insect and pests

  Refrain from killing is one of the 5 precepts.
  
  When one see a mosquito, fly, roaches, lizards crawling or flying in our house, one will kill them isnt it?
  
  Any lay follower dun kill mosquito, fly or roaches when you see them in your house flying or crawling around?
  
  What abt boiling water? boiling water also kill those bacteria or microbes isnt it? Is it the same with killing?

  Another thing i would like to point is that when your house is clean naturally there wont be much pests...
  
  Bacteria and microbes are organisms that have no consciousness so its ok. They are not sentient beings that think or feel.

  Depends on the type of housing you live in and the weather.
  
  these pests and insects wont appear in cold weather like in winter for sure.
  in an equatorial climate like singapore, the heat and humidity are conditions for pests and insects to thrive in.
  
  there seems to be no or little insects or pests for people living in condos and clean and modern private housing. HDB flats sure have these pests and insects settling in as unwelcome occupants, but yeah, cleanliness sure is one way to deal with insects and pests isnt it.
