Hey its not for him lar. Its for his hospital operating and other expenditure.Originally posted by iveco:Honestly, does Shi Ming Yi need so much money in the first place?![]()
To tell the truth, I have lost faith in charity shows ever since the NKF saga broke.Originally posted by marcteng:Hey its not for him lar. Its for his hospital operating and other expenditure.
I think for every dollar collected, 70 cents went directly to patients of Ren Ci Hospital, unlike the old NKF, just 10 cents for every dollar collected. Having a live performance on tv is not cheap either mind you. Venerable Shi Ming Yi does not benefit it personally. Check on the Ren Ci hospital for expenditures if you are in doubt.
I empathise with you. There sure will be a few rotten apples among a basket or cart of apples one.Originally posted by iveco:To tell the truth, I have lost faith in charity shows ever since the NKF saga broke.![]()
In all, $6.8 million was raised, which exceeded the target of $5 million. Last year's show raised $6.6 million.btw i tot i heard it's 30 cents for Ren Ci instead of 70 cents. 70 cents is their usage.

The hospital says it has never breached the 30 per cent cap on expenses for fund raising, but Venerable Shi hopes there will be some flexibility in imposing that during difficult economic times.http://sg.news.yahoo.com/051222/5/singapore184949.html
Smaller charities are worried that once controls become tighter, some will be deterred from embarking on big fund raisers that are more risky but can raise more funds.
Dr Koo Wen Hsin, vice-chairman of Singapore Cancer Society, said: "It'll be a lot easier for us if this mandatory 30/70 ratio is applied across the year to all the cumulative fund raising activities instead of an individual programme. For example, if we can't raise 70 per cent in one event, we can spread it out and other events can help cover the loss."
Think Peat Marwick vs Price Waterhouse.Originally posted by charlize:Different auditors will give differrent figures.
