  As to where the question of where exactly hell & the Buddha exist, 1 sutra states that hell exists underground & another sutra says that the Buddha is in the west. Closer examination, however, reveals that both exist in our 5-foot body. The world of Hell doesn't exist underground & Buddhahood doesn't exist in the Western Paradise. Instead, both worlds exist within our lives. Even though one is presently experiencing the sufferings in the world of Hell, one can transform one's life-state condition to that of supreme joy in the world of Buddhahood.
  
  The original meaning of the word hell (jigoku), is an underground prison. The Buddhist sutras describe a total of 136 kind of hell, including 8 hot hells & the 8 cold hells. The state of Hell is the lowest state of life. It's a state where one is imprisoned by extreme suffering. The word "ji" (literally meaning underground) of "jigoku" (Hell) means the lowest state while the word "goku" (literally meaning prison) means to be restricted & to be devoid of freedom.
  
  Rage is the world of Hell. "Rage" refers to the resentment one feels when things don't go according to one's wishes or he/she hatred one directs towards the person who brings suffering upon him/her. The state of Hel is where one's life-force is weakened to the extreme & where one is utterly devoid of freedom. The frustrating groan of despair of such a helpless state of life is called "Rage".
  
  Put another way, the state of hell is a condition where one feels that living is a great suffering & where one feels unhappiness no matter what he/she sees or does

  When we are happy and contented we are in "heaven." When we suffer physically or mentally we are in "hell." There is no need to wait to die to experience either of these states.

  The the Hat of crown actually started from the Taoist Priest doing deliverance
  
  Also known as Pu2 du4 .When Buddhism is establishing in China ,It accept many of the Chinese Taoist God Costume to make ppl accept Buddhism in East Han dynasty
  
  in fact Originally , the Di zang Wang Pu sa does not have a hat , He is depicted in central asia and caves of Ajanta as a bhikkhu
  
  I have to do some research on staff b4 i answer abt the Staff
  
  but I know that it is stated in a sutra that Di zang wang pu sa did carry a staff
  
  to shatter the ground to allow the Hell beings from hearing the teachings of Buddha when Buddha Preach for a chance to be liberate.
