its something i chose myself from all the options of tattoos.Originally posted by marcteng:what tattoo is that you haven said yet?
u mean u tattoo on your forehead?Originally posted by paperflower:its something i chose myself from all the options of tattoos.
its a round lotus with some ancient-looking words that are (mantras?) inscribed in all the eight petals each & one mantra in the center of the circle. its hand-tattoo using a wooden stick and a needle to poke individually. (interesting experience in an ancient way of tattooing).
was painful but can say not painful also as i just concentrate meditating reciting na mo shakyamuni buddha (thinking & seeking to him to guide me always on the path to enlightenment no matter in what situations i am.
after finished tattoo-ing, the master recited the mantras and he blow at the tattoo.....
next, i turned around, and he did some reciting and placed an amulet on my forehead & continued reciting firmly earnestly and then blow at my forehead. in cantonese this is called "gam mok" dun know whats it called in other language perhaps "jing1 mu4" i just literally translating - golden vision? i dun know....
so all the while in the process i just kept meditating reciting shakyamuni buddha's name non-stop.
the tattoo resembled a lotus if looked carefully if not can just easily pass of as any ordinary mystical design to those who don't know.
no, it's on my upper arm.Originally posted by sherling22:u mean u tattoo on your forehead?

Your Tattoo is called Sakyant in Thai. I believe you still hve doubts abt this Sakyant. I give u the following website for your reference please.

Why choose to delve into such occults or mystic in the first place.Originally posted by rahula25:Hi ! Paperflower...
U chose the Sakyant design will benefit u a smooth-sailing in life. It is also another form of blessings too.
So dun regret abt it....however, if in future u going for another sakyant, I advice u not to choose those animal sakyant design like Tiger, pigs, Bull or monkey. Those animals sakyants are meant for specific protections as there are originated from brahminism and folks beliefs.
U should ask the master what are these sakyants about? And their origins too. It is advicable to have sakyants that are abstracts from Pali buddhist scriptures rather than some unknown brahmin spells. Unless you are going for magical powers....then that is your preference.
Not everyone suitable for these animal sakyants as they will triggered hot tempted and negative emotions...some serious cases may cause u to enter into unneccessary trance. While U enter trance, U might behaved like the animal on your bodily sakyant.
There are many forms of sakyants and there are many meanings and usage too. Normally, monks not allowed u to choose any sakyants design..the decision shall goes to the monk who decide which sakyant u suitable accords to your astrological birth. There are many schools of sakyants in Thailand, thus monks will bestow u their best sakyant on you based on the schools of yantra that they are expertised.
Only those white clothed archans will allowed you to choose the designs where I feel not so appropriate lah...keke...
For sakyants, U can choose coloured or invincible one. I feel that coloured sakyants quite ragged. If too many such tattoo on your body might not look good in job interviews. Right? haha...
Hey..by the way, there are some restrictions u need to observe after sakyants...did the archan highlight u about it?

I dun delve into occult, so I dun understand and dun wanna understand.Originally posted by rahula25:marcteng...
Occult is needed for certain people...no choice...although occults are not the ultimate remedy for our sufferings. Sakyants are not merely show off, its different from ordinary ah beng tattoos.
