In conclusion, Lau ought to be handled with utmost care. Don't fall into any of his traps.Originally posted by sillyme:Boy, it is difficult to juggle my responsibility here and the real world I live in. I apologise for not being here the whole of yesterday.
As most of you should know, EH is a Christian forum. Most of the opinions we state here are from the Christian context. There will be things that we say here that may offend some people. But I appeal to all fellow believers to exercise discernment to the things you post here. I ask that seek wisdom before you speak out all your thoughts.
EH will continue to be a place for discussing the Christian faith. It will still be a place where we will make know our identity in Christ. We will strive to be a place where we confess our faith bravely. But we will and have to exercise the need to be sensitive to other religions/race.
Brey and Laurence, there will be no end to this if we do not take a step back.
Laurence, you have knack in taking one issue, blow it up, turn it personal and continue poking it. And sometimes, it is brought to other forums, in particular your forum. You are always on the prowl to spot mistakes and find fault in it. You know it is a public forum, there will be things you disagree. If you disagree, you disagree. Full stop. And yes, if you disagree with my points, I will not defend further.
Brey, as a moderator, we need to wear two hats. One as a member of the forum, another a moderator of the forum. It has to be distinct. I agree that our faith must be defended unabashedly. But sometimes we need learn to hold our tongue.
If we can agree, let this issue rest ok? If you have said your peace, I will lock this thread.
he is okay wad.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Maybe I shouldn't say he done nothing wrong. Because everyone will make mistakes. But at least in my forum, he is OK la.
I wouldn't be too sure of that if I were you. Christians look at the world through an entirely different set of values. You are talking about people who believe in the concept of punishment by proxy, human sacrifice and genocide, and who invented a whole new discipline (called Apologetics) just to defend their faith...Originally posted by An Eternal Now:I do read his posts at times in EH, not always, but so far I didnt find his posts quite disparaging to Christianity![]()

Things that Buddhists don't find disparaging might be extremely offensive to Christians. I have inadvertantly stepped on the toes of some Christians before. That makes me exercise a high degree of caution when I talk to them.
yea but u don't see many christians doing that. they seem to love going out of the way to offend others just to try to prove their religion is "right"Originally posted by Beyond Religion:I wouldn't be too sure of that if I were you. Yeah, there is a saying something like "There is nothing more dangerous than someone who is absolutely convinced that he knows the truth"... A sceintist also said "With or without religion you will have good men doing good things and evil men doing evil things. For good men to do evil things, that takes religion." [nb: Not exact quote, but something like that...Originally posted by HENG@:yea but u don't see many christians doing that. they seem to love going out of the way to offend others just to try to prove their religion is "right"
heck they even have no qualms murdering their own fellow xtians in their pathetic attempt to prove they are "right". Just ask the Cathars that.
