The great goddess Sarasvati, likewise (the god¬dess) who dwells in the (river) Nairanjana, Hariti, the mother of BhUtas, and the Earth-goddess Drdha, the Brahma-kings and the Thirty-three kings, the powerful rulers of the serpents, the kings of the Kimnaras and the kings of the Asuras, likewise the kings of the Garudas, (4) these, having approached there with the might of their armies and with their vehicles, will provide protection for them, by day and by night, unwearying(4~. I will make known this sutra, the pro¬found Buddha-region, the marvellous mystery of all the Buddhas, for millions of aeons.
Those who hear this sutra and who cause others to hear it, whoever rejoice in it, and those who do honour to it, will be honoured throughout numerous millions of aeons by gods, serpents and men, by Kimnaras, Asuras and Yaksas. The heap of merit arising from them is endless, incalculable, inconceivable, for those beings who have performed merits. They will be gladly accepted by the Buddhas in the ten directions and likewise by the Bodhisattvas, whose career is profound. Having put on clean robes, wearing well-perfumed clothes, having produced a mind (full) of love, one must do honour untiringly. One should make one's mind, self, pure (and) expansive. (5) Purify (your) thoughts and hear (this) excellent sutra.
Those who hear this sutra, welcome among men and a well-gained fruit of human existence, will live a good life. Those into whose ear this instruction enters will have their merit-roots ripened and be praised by numerousmillions of aeons by gods, serpents and men, by Kimnaras, Asuras and Yaksas. The heap of merit arising from them is endless, incalculable, inconceivable, for those beings who have performed merits. They will be gladly accepted by the Buddhas in the ten directions and likewise by the Bodhisattvas, whose career is profound.
