A Buddha's Drawing

Here's a picture of Buddha drawn by Barry, an inmate at Kaki Bukit Centre. Gotta know him when I started dharma sharing at KBC, and realised that he is a very talented person at heart. In fact, there are many inmates like Barry who have accepted punishment, and repented. I firmly believe that all beings have the heart of buddha within them, but we are clouded by greed, anger and ignorance. However, always repent and make sure we'll never do it again, forgive ourselves and move on. That's something I've learnt from the inmates who have made it to the society and became a better person.

And more beautiful is that inmate's heart.. of being repentant. I believe they can all become living Angulimalas. -

nice is this drawing , may the society embrace you as part of the society as you turn over a new leaf.
the sad thing is society still have taboos or phobia employing ex-convict ,it is largely personal factor at hand .But if everyone just open their heart to understand humans do err ,there is actually no lifetime condemnation for them
The yellow ribbon campaign was only met with limited success .We hope more people can take a walk into prison and see the peaceful nature of the convict who are in the Bodhi Path . -
Good advice... eh... I'm not an inmate, only a volunteer that goes in weekly to do dharma sharing.. I've met with alot of difficulties while engaging people to go to prison to make friends with inmates. However, much I can see, this is slowly changing, at least among the buddhist communities.
