The path to be a Bodhisattva is difficult but as long as u never give up along the way.. it is always attainable.

Is the practice of a bodhisattva. -
Even if someone insults you
In the middle of a gathering,
pointing out your hidden faults—
Bowing down respectfully, seeing that person
As a spiritual friend,
Is the practice of a bodhisattva. -
Even if someone regards you as an enemy,
Though you've cared for him as you would your own child—
Being especially affectionate toward him
As would a mother whose child is taken ill
Is the practice of a bodhisattva. -
Even if someone, your equal or less,
Treats you with contempt out of arrogance—
Putting him above you respectfully,
As you would your teacher,
Is the practice of a bodhisattva. -

Dear Friends,
I am not a boddhisatva... because i can be an asshole if i wanted to. But I will like to recount my expereince with the Boddhisatva vow.
I took the Boddhisatva vow lifetimes ago. Well, it has been continuous hell for me. When you take the vow, you agree to assist others in their liberation. Because of this, very difficult people will enter your life. You will encounter all kinds of difficult people and situation because you 'believe' you need to 'save' them.
Let me ask a question? Why do you want to take the vow. If it is for glory or a beautiful self-image... we will regret it. For my case, the reason for my taking the vow is less than altrustic.
You see, lifetimes before I took the vow, I have powerful but dark lives. I was involve in very harmful acts... and that caused me to be very guilty. Lifetimes forward, i try to appease my guilt by taking the boddhisatva vow. But, what could have been more important is to clear the karma of harmfulness rather than taking a vow to cover a guilt.
Dear friends, i ask of you to uncover the exact reason for taking the vow.

if you all think that bodhisattva is an ambitious thing to become, or it is a nice-image kinda thing to be, then you all are damn bloody wrong about it. those who seek enlightenment can jolly well forget about being buddhas or arhats.

i am also not all the time very nice and sweet, i can be very nasty too.
but i don't hide my intention nor do i have any hidden agenda. i do things straight forward. if i am aspiring to follow a bodhisattva path, so be it. who knows, aeons ago i have already taken the vow and so does this lifetime i took the vow in january. people can mock tease criticise, go ahead. who does it benefit? you, me? nobody actually.
any arrows come shoot all you want.

you all really think a bodhisattva image is very nice and glorifying is it? all wrong views.

Relax... I am not directing at you, lah. I am just sharing my experience.
Here you are already been affected by the approval or disapproval of people with regard to your Boddhasatva vow. Isn't this the effect of self-image? If you couldn't care less, then you really have no self-image at all.

i can easily fall over to the dark side or the orthodox side. this for a long time i have been aware of....
its my affinity that i am able to continue to learn buddha's teaching and again take refuge in the three treasures.
i have an incident, many many years ago....
i knew a friend who has things better than me. it seemed that she can get her things her way around so easily without much efforts. but i have to work so hard to get what i least wanted. i was extremely angry about this and was very jealous.
i stood in the room alone, held my heart and cursed her so badly that one of her badges overnight was tarnished with black mark that could not be erased. the black mark was unknown of how it came to be.....
she was shocked as she left it in a place where only she could reach and was surprised how it became tarnished.
perhaps with my heart and mind, the strong will of hatred caused the scar. perhaps it saved her from the curses. yes i regretted doing that after knowing my mistakes.......
its a matter of fine line apart for me to be on the dark or bright side of practice. when i finally have the affinity to be with buddha, i wish only to learn and practice earnestly buddha's teaching....
its not anything about being crazy about buddhism, it is because that's how i will put my heart and mind into a practice i choose. -
perhaps this could be why i could see, sense sometimes disturbed by those things. maybe i have caused them their lives in my previous lives on the dark side too.....
but i vowed to learn the dharma with them to help them free from their suffering states. perhaps when i started to embrace buddhism and taken the refuge in three treasures, my evil karma has lessened. frankly, now i have a more stable calm and clear peaceful mind. its all up there in the head.
i know now still all the time they are around whenever i study buddha teachings. because i invited them. i don't mind at all. its the least i could do for them for now.
