when eating meats aren't we eating the corpses...Originally posted by longchen:For the pleasure of eating animals, these animals must suffer pain far greater than our pleasure.
No fair to the animals.
Before becoming corpses, the animals get cut, bleed, suffer excruciating pain and then die. That must be taken into account.Originally posted by neutral_onliner:when eating meats aren't we eating the corpses...![]()
i understand... but it veri hard for all to turn to vegeteriansOriginally posted by longchen:Before becoming corpses, the animals get cut, bleed, suffer excruciating pain and then die. That must be taken into account.
Imagine an alien specie that eat human. Humans are captured and stored in cages. One by one the humans get brutally taken out of the cage. As the skin is not so tasty, a knife is used to make cuts on the body for easy peeling. Then, the skin is pull of the meat...
Imagine the rest of the process...![]()
KFC is my favourite.Originally posted by HENG@:there are some of us fighting for animal based industries to adopt controlled atmosphere killing. There is a currently ongoing PETA boycott of KFC worldwide. http://www.kfccruelty.com/index.asp
Many of us recognise that going vegetarian might be not be the easiest thing to do, but despite that, we do care for animals and we are also concerned about animal rights, or at least, their right to humane treatment before their time is up.
We also know it is not enough, but we are only human and we try out best.
please don't eat there. it used to be my fav as well.Originally posted by dragg:KFC is my favourite.
only U.S. slaughterhouse is guilty right?Originally posted by HENG@:please don't eat there. it used to be my fav as well.
but KFC sg belongs to KFC corp who also own those slaughter houses. and KFC has said it steadfastly refuses to change to CAK, unlike McDonalds. So thats why there is a WORLDWIDE ban.Originally posted by dragg:only U.S. slaughterhouse is guilty right?
i doubt KFC singapore get chicken from them.
KFC's slaughterhouses in U.S. only supply chicken to the U.S. market right?Originally posted by HENG@:but KFC sg belongs to KFC corp who also own those slaughter houses. and KFC has said it steadfastly refuses to change to CAK, unlike McDonalds. So thats why there is a WORLDWIDE ban.
the idea is to deprive the ENTIRE KFC corp worldwide of business until they adopt CAK for all slaughterhouses they own and controll. Dun see what supply has got to do with it.Originally posted by dragg:KFC's slaughterhouses in U.S. only supply chicken to the U.S. market right?
i am seeing it from a eater's point of view.Originally posted by HENG@:the idea is to deprive the ENTIRE KFC corp worldwide until they adopt CAK for all slaughterhouses they own and controll. Dun see what supply has got to do with it.![]()
Turning into vegetarian need not be an overnight effort. One could start to increase the consumption of carbohydrates and fibres, so that stomach will get full easily, and hence lesser desire for meat products. As a vegatarian, I can vouch for the benefits of becoming one, became healthier is one. Of course, I'm not saying a vegetarian will not fall ill, but without animal fats, one does becomes "lighter".Originally posted by neutral_onliner:i understand... but it veri hard for all to turn to vegeterians![]()
the issue is not about just filling the stomach but the urge to eat meat.Originally posted by coolbluewater:Turning into vegetarian need not be an overnight effort. Think by watching this video will decrease the uge of eating meat. If one is compassion, the urge of eating meat will decrease, or even diminish.Originally posted by dragg:the issue is not about just filling the stomach but the urge to eat meat.
why not? if we dun put pressure on KFC corp as a whole, how do we make them change the way their us slaughterfarms operate? u eat at KFC, u condone their actions even if the us slaughterhouses dun supply sg. in the end u're telling them its ok to continue being cruel. seeing as an eater is not enough. u should be seeing it from a compassionate, intelligent, thinking eater's POVOriginally posted by dragg:i am seeing it from a eater's point of view.
what KFC corp is doing at their slaughterhouse has nothing to do with KFC here. we neednt boycott the whole KFC group just to make then adopt CAK (whatever it stands for)![]()

Nobody would argue that animals don't feel pain, fear or enjoyment. This gives them the basic right to be treated in ways that respect their own personal value, just as humans are. This includes the right to live, not to be slaughtered or treated unjustly.Originally posted by coolbluewater:Think by watching this video will decrease the uge of eating meat. It is a scientifically proven fact that vegetarians live longer and enjoy better health than carnivores. If everybody went vegetarian, not only would people in general live longer and in better health, but it would also be much easier to feed the world. This is because, on average, it takes about 10 kilogram's of vegetation to produce 1 kilogramme of meat. As anyone who has ever been a vegetarian for some time will know, a vegetarian diet provides more than enough of all the nutrients needed by humans.Originally posted by sinweiy:interesting found, our human anatomy is alike herbivores than omnivores or carnivores.
kind of verify what Buddha's said that human did 'evolve' from heavenly beings (which dislike the smell of meat said Ven Hui Lui).
