Attaining Buddhahood is ultimate, but a Buddha is liberated from both samsara and nirvana dharma, therefore manifests according to conditions to save sentient beings out of compassion..Originally posted by sinweiy:that say we cannot say that the final final purpose of learning Buddhadharma (particularly mahayana) is to attain Buddhahood or sever afflictions, or escape samsara. as that will be regarding of 'self'. It's final goal should be to liberate sentient beings.

Things are very often much deeper than we see, and very often, because of our ignorance, we didn't realise it. Likewise for our hearts. Even if you can see your emotions, you can't see what's there in your subconscience. If you look deeper, you'll realise that there is nothing permant there for you to hold. Hence, no requirement for any attachments.Originally posted by sinweiy:and it often goes with "kan po" (see things as they are).
