Whats better plasma or lcd. I am going to buy a TV and need advice.

my DH said plasma better but i prefer lcd cos it's cheaper.
lcd is abit slower in transition and plasma picture quality is sharper though.
if for long term use and if you have enough budget to invest then maybe a reasonably priced plasma would be a good choice although it is expensive but nowadays prices for plasma tv are also depreciating. so maybe you can window shop around, ask abit more questions or recommendation then decide which to buy.

If i were u , Neutral_onliner , I will buy an LCD tv ,considering the heat dissipation is better than an Plasma one
this is true ,becos the heat dissipated by Plasma is quite a significant amt that the paint on your wall can flake and crack in times to come

the govt have not approved Digital Broadcasting and transmission ,so u might have to wait for 5-10 years for the implementation -

StarHub launches HD Channels in Singapore
Upon the success of its trial, StarHub has launched 2 HD channels - Discovery HD and National Geographic HD.
This makes Singapore the first country in South-east Asia to offer a commercial HD service. StarHub is also the first operator in Singapore to offer commercial HDTV services although MediaCorp and SingTel also plan to commercially launch HDTV services later this year.

they are not available in HD Digital Broadcasting yet
In order for HDTV to show the best of Public Channel ,the TV station have to broadcast in digital bandwidth
Digital TV like bloomberg and Reuter still not allowed to be released ,thus waiting for Govt to approve the bandwidth
Starhub ,M1 and Others are known as Paid Per view Channel .Users paid more than the normal Public TV
ask your dad abt the TV license payable to Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore ..Do they include the amount of Channel you can watch ?
Dun think you know all this ,this is adult world of paying for expenses in Singapore -

Uh of course I know about channels lah... I and my sis were the ones who chose which channels to buy from Starhub.
And yea I din noe bohiruci was talking about public TV, since my first post said "starhub is going to release high definition video streaming" and his first reply also didn't mention public TV.

I and AEN are good frens , dun come and sow discord lor , I just pointing out the HDTV is ONLY BEST for Digital Broadcasting ,which is only available 5- 10 yrs later .
