  About the Speakers / Facilitators
  
  Shen Shian was one of the founding members of the Dharma Propagation Division of Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery in 1997. He was the editor/writer of the "Awaken: Gateway to Buddhism" CD-ROM, "Be a Lamp Upon Yourself" and "The Daily Enlightenment Book I (Jan-Dec)". He is the founder and editor of TheDailyEnlightenment.com, a Singapore-based Buddhist portal and e-newsletter. Currently, he heads the temple's web department, which also co-supports Buddhanet.net. He is also a feature writer for BuddhistChannel.tv and runs http://www.moonpointer.com/, a Buddhist blog community which hopes to promote writing as part of spiritual practice.

  i am sure many people have done it, making a grand feast of food plus offerings and offering massive amts of hell notes to appease the spirits at their workplace. its a 7th month custom for many chinese.
  
  last sat, i went to my mom's workplace and help out to burn those hellnotes,
  well, i had a dream the same night. i dream of my one of close friend, he is a hong konger and quite well to do, in the dream he called me and said he was very hungry, very very hungry. he looked starved too. out of my compassion and as a friend, in my dream, i imagine i brought lots of food for him, and instantly my "friend" in my dream thank me and left, thats when i wake up too.
  
  then i realise my "friend" is a spirit who took the form of my friend to seek my help.
