Yes alot of vegetarian food out there is very oily and unhealthy, if you are a vegetarian you should avoid them as far as possible. Or eat only occasionally.Originally posted by Taiwanpolitics:I knoe some vegetarian do not eat eggs and milk .

Actually mock meat is a relatively good way to get people off meat. No doubt it tastes remotely like the original thing, but it's up to the creativity of the chef who will make magic out of the flour.Originally posted by shade343:mock meat does not taste like meat. Its just sweet flour.![]()

Frankly speaking, some natural ingredients, like mushrooms or fungi tastes much more like meat than mock meat. Mock meat just makes vegetarian meals abit more colourful and creative, though also greatly depending on how the cook cooks it.Originally posted by paperflower:i feel mock meat is not true vegetarian. its just a substitude to meat cos people can't let go. its a mental form of consolation. for some may think, well it takes time for people to get used to eating veges so let's be patient & accomodating. however, without knowing the real meaning & causes, it's actually not really helping them at all.
mock meat are just bunch of flour. (i'd rather take rice or bread.)
it is like junk food in the spiritual sense.
How about removing the human mind?Originally posted by sinweiy:sigh...maybe it's the "excuse/revenge " of the meat eating(or desire/mara) on preventing ppl from taking up vegetarian. yin guo again.....cause and effect...vegetarian ppl used to say the meat eater...now the meat eater say back the vegetarian.

I guess one has to go back to the question on why one becomes a vegetarian first.

so I don't think people eat it because they miss the taste of meat. It's not a good substitute.
However I do think people eat it for variety in their meals.
And yes, if one is that enlightened it wouldn't matter what he ate, because he eats to live only hehehh.
Just my opinion !
