Some are simply chosen to take over the job.
I found this article
"... the Dalai Lama's Tibet, torture and mutilation -- including eye gouging, the pulling out of tongues, hamstringing, and amputation of arms and legs -- were favored punishments inflicted upon thieves, runaway serfs, and other "criminals." Journeying through Tibet in the 1960s, Stuart and Roma Gelder interviewed a former serf, Tsereh Wang Tuei, who had stolen two sheep belonging to a monastery. For this he had both his eyes gouged out and his hand mutilated beyond use. He explains that he no longer is a Buddhist: "When a holy lama told them to blind me I thought there was no good in religion." (19) Some Western visitors to Old Tibet remarked on the number of amputees to be seen. [b]Since it was against Buddhist teachings to take human life, some offenders were severely lashed and then "left to God" in the freezing night to die. "The parallels between Tibet and medieval Europe are striking," concludes Tom Grunfeld in his book on Tibet. (20)
Some monasteries had their own private prisons, reports Anna Louise Strong. In 1959, she visited an exhibition of torture equipment that had been used by the Tibetan overlords. There were handcuffs of all sizes, including small ones for children, and instruments for cutting off noses and ears, and breaking off hands. For gouging out eyes, there was a special stone cap with two holes in it that was pressed down over the head so that the eyes bulged out through the holes and could be more readily torn out. There were instruments for slicing off kneecaps and heels, or hamstringing legs. There were hot brands, whips, and special implements for disembowling. (21)
The exhibition presented photographs and testimonies of victims who had been blinded or crippled or suffered amputations for thievery. There was the shepherd whose master owed him a reimbursement in yuan and wheat but refused to pay. So he took one of the master's cows; for this he had his hands severed. Another herdsman, who opposed having his wife taken from him by his lord, had his hands broken off. There were pictures of Communist activists with noses and upper lips cut off, and a woman who was raped and then had her nose sliced away.... (22)"[i/]![]()

Hmm ya and you also remembered fighting during WW1 in France if I'm right?Originally posted by longchen:When we meditate sometimes the impressions comes in. Also, during our early childhood (before 7), we have stronger remembrance. But usually only the dramatic memories comes in.
Also, we can intuitively get a feel of who we are in the past. For example, when I visited Brussels in Europe many years ago, I got a feeling I knew this place before...it was nostalgic. Later on, i discovered that I have stay for sometime there most probably as a mystic, because Brussels was the headquarter for Western mystics during WW1.

At 18 months old, his father, Bruce Leininger, took James to the Kavanaugh Flight Museum in Dallas, Texas, where the toddler remained transfixed by World War II aircraft.
A few months later, the nightmares began.
"They were terrible, terrible," Andrea said. "He would scream, 'airplane crash, on fire, little man can't get out!' He'd be kicking, with his hands pointing up at the ceiling."
When James was 2 1/2 years old, he and Andrea were shopping and he wanted a toy airplane. "I said to him, 'Look, it has a bomb on the bottom' and he told me, 'That's not a bomb, it's a drop tank.' I had no idea what a drop tank was."
Neither of the Leiningers have ever served in the military, nor are they involved with aviation. Until James began showing an interest in planes, they had nothing aviation-related in their home....
Hi TexcocoII,Originally posted by Texcoco II:Well, actually I have been trying to say something like this but I was afraid that people will find me silly and dumb. So far I only told to 2 of my friends, in which they take it as a joke.
Ever since when I was young, I somehow feel that I experience what radiation effect on a person was all about. I could remember the very thick and distinct apple-rotting smell, along with the gas suffocating my throat and a very painful headache. I knew it was radiation, but why did I think that way I have no idea. I just dismiss it in my mind until one day when I read the Reader's Digest magazine article on chernobyl disaster when a survivor descripe the feeling of being bombarded by leaking radiation waves which is exactly the same as what I had felt! It is since this coincidence I start to take notice of this.
The chernobyl accident happen in april 26 1986, I was born on 10 sept 1986, I start to suspect whether my "feelings" have anything to do with the chernobyl accident, whether was I "reincarnated" from a dead person from tat accident... But even till now I refuse to believe or "try" to believe ENTIRELY in it..cos it just sounds too incredible to be true
Anyway beside this feeling, I have no prior knowledge of other event or place....
Erm...yah...I got skin and nose allergy as well as a bit of anxiety phobiaOriginally posted by longchen:Hi TexcocoII,
Thanks for the sharing.
I think it is very likely that you died of radiation exposure. Do you have some phobias or allergy. It is advisable to cleanse ourselve of the strong karmic imprints.
BTW, an Austrian friend that i recently got to know, told me that all people that helped to clean up the Chernobyl accidents died after several years. The radiation killed them slowly. Also, there were strange mutations of people born after the incident...
Hmm...the easiest (but slow and gradual) way to cleanse is Reiki. Reiki is a kind of attunement and comes in 3 levels. Level 1 detox at the physical body level. level 2 works at the emotional level.Originally posted by Texcoco II:Erm...yah...I got skin and nose allergy as well as a bit of anxiety phobia
