for wad? because he wrote something against lamas in tibet?Originally posted by An Eternal Now:I think he was refering to the guy who wrote that article.
But I guess we shouldn't use such strong words. 'Amituofuo' is much better.
Amitabha - what does it mean?
v. If we happen to pass by an abattoir, a place where pigs, cows or other animals are slaughtered, and since we understand that the effect of the karma of killing is rebirth in the realm of hell, and we make a verbal comment to that effect, is it appropriate? While we do not know whether the person who is committing the killing will be reborn in hell, but when we speak of hell, we immediately strike a resonance with hell. Because suffering and darkness prevail in hell, at the mention of the word, we have already struck an accord with suffering and darkness. If we say "Amitabha Buddha" instead, then brightness spontaneously illumines in our mind and the image of the abattoir will not take root in our mind.

Actually may not be very advisable to explore past lives until your practise has gathered strength. You may not understand everything from fragments of memories, more questions raised, and you may be unable to cope with it.Originally posted by Texcoco II:Sorry i dun understand, why issit important to "Cleanse" my karmic imprints? I did not write anything against the lamas, I merely quoted the entire passage and posted it here so that people can come and clarify. Amazing...Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Anyway, longchen was a Tibetan monk 2 lifetimes ago.
Originally posted by Texcoco II:Definitely not refering to you la... Refering to whoever wrote that article. More likely refering to the guy who spoke about his bad experience with lama. But we never know whether he is slandering or telling the truth, so we should not condemn him in this way. Nevertheless i feel that the author should consider eyewitnesses as proof before coming to the conclusion. And that guy who supposedly ordered torture may not be, is unlikely to be, a lama. But who knows.

In other case, I dun and never believe Buddhism can condem a person just because he or she is against it, it made it sounds like "not believing in blah blah will make sure u go to hell" that sort of stuff. The beauty of Buddhism I enjoy is the flexibility for people to question freely and accept, as well as constructive answers to our life problems.
Longchen is around, ask himOriginally posted by dokono:Amazing...
How do you know that?

When we meditate sometimes the impressions comes in. Also, during our early childhood (before 7), we have stronger remembrance. But usually only the dramatic memories comes in.
Also, we can intuitively get a feel of who we are in the past. For example, when I visited Brussels in Europe many years ago, I got a feeling I knew this place before...it was nostalgic. Later on, i discovered that I have stay for sometime there most probably as a mystic, because Brussels was the headquarter for Western mystics during WW1.
Deep meditation can actually foresee one's past life? This is unbelievable. Well, then again there are many things that can't be explained in simple science by layman terms.
I'm pretty much a novice in this chanting and meditation fields, infact i have never meditate before. In the few ocassions that i do chant, when i'm focus, i can feel a wave of hot air up my feet, at my back and such, why is this so?
In fact i do feel and get the vibes of the works of buddha and bodhisattva's help in those time that my father was sick. There were a few quite prominent cases.
At my father's wake, when the monks were chanting for him, i was chanting "nan mo a mi tou fo" together with them, and i can feel my body shaking or rather moving uncontrolably and my soul is trying to raise up from my body though it was rooted to the ground. Why is this so?
I have seeked the monk's advice, he mentioned that it maybe because i have the affinity. And it would be good for me to meditate?
Please advice and share your knowledge.

These strong karmic imprints disturb our peace.. Like what you said... you have a bit of anxiety phobia... This maybe the brought over effect of the way you died in the previous life.Originally posted by Texcoco II:Sorry i dun understand, why issit important to "Cleanse" my karmic imprints? I was doubting the source of all this posting ...
I am not saying you .Please do not misinterprete me wrong
As I have SAID ,It always best to ask a Rinpoche or a Lineage master regarding authenticity of such articles
The US have always sunk its teeth into the Tibet issue. It would be no surprise to me that Dalai Lama is involved in this political battle one way or another.Originally posted by bohiruci:Recently in United States there is an Author who claimed a former CIA agent
and Claim Dalai Lama is the agent to CIA to prevent Chinese Communist Influence
that x-CIA agent earns a living by writing books .thats why i doubt the authenticity of his writings
Just that there are people in this world willing to accept the "Great American Spirit " kind of distortion
I think it is amusing to those who writes such untruth abt Buddhism
especially in 1960s the Communist have been controlling the whole of Tibet
so , where have HH Dalai Lama have the right to order the punishment of criminal ?

somesoldier did told his plight of suffering very badly in life ,after the annexation of tibet to the tibet rinpoche when they repent for their wrongdoings.
Some rinpoche did tell of scary unnatural death happen to those who killed lineage holder and tulkus .
Its all the fruition of heavy karma to destroy a religion with ruthless means
