  Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- The Immigration Department will consider issuing visas to foreign monks only after Buddhist associations in Malaysia have certified their identities, said Deputy Home Affairs Minister Datuk Tan Chai Ho.
  
  Sin Chew Daily reported that seven Buddhist associations in Malaysia had urged the Government not to freely issue visas to monks.
  
  The daily reported that there were an increasing number of foreigners impersonating monks to collect alms from well-wishers.
  
  “In Buddhism, monks are only allowed to ask alms or food before noon. .Bogus monks can be found at night markets We believe there are syndicates behind such activities,” said Tan.

  these people or syndicates do not know that doing such a thing will have very, very bad kamma.
  
  These fake monks or nuns dunno the very bad consequences they have done, maybe they will learn in the next world, where sinners know their fate.

  When we think of syndicates...
  
  Have we considered why they are doing it?
  
  They choose this way to survive. To impersonate, to pretend, to basically cheat.
  
  Have we considered maybe they have 9 mouths to feed at home and this is the only way they know how?

  I dun think they are so destitute as to cheat or commit fraud for a living, unlike robin hood story, where he stole the rich and uses the stolen riches to feed the poor.
  
  syndicates is to earn as much money as possible thru fraud. they also have other means like bookie, prostitution, slavery, collection of protection fees etc etc

  Which still means that the folks involved on the street are under the control of the syndicates.
  
  How did they joined the syndicates if not out of desperations?
  
  Syndicates also need to supply to demands. So as long as we terminate the supply of pity towards such folks. We should be able to minimise the demands.
