I plan to go with my wife. I looked up the KMSPKS website but cannot find the event... any more details here? Is it for public admission? Any charges? Duration of the talk? Any registration required etc?Originally posted by marcteng:anyone going for the dhamma talk?

I emailed KMSPKS for clarification, they told me that it is organized by Buddhist Fellowship, though the venue is in PKS.Originally posted by marcteng:y pks website dun have the dhamma talk eh?
is it going to be held there if at all?
My understanding is same as yours. You can transfer to anyone, not just those you are close to. However transference works best when he is there to witness your transference. Therefore to the deceased it is best to think of the deceased and tell him about your intentions of dedicating merits. He might be able to sense it and be present during transference.Originally posted by Beyond Religion:I just came back from the talk. I brought my wife and daughter along. Ajahn Brahm is a really good speaker. Hard hitting and humorous at the same time.
However, he mentions that the transferance of merit is effective only between people with whom you are close to... My understanding is that transferance can be made to any being, whether close to me or not.
Any thoughts?
