Talk cock topics pls post in http://buddhism.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=196831&page=11Originally posted by Eric Cartman:what if I already am at stage 5 or 6 since I was very little, and I just didnt mention those things you guys described cos I thought every other human could see them naturally?
Don't assume things like you are a psychic.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Talk cock topics pls post in http://buddhism.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=196831&page=11
Anyway obviously no human can see them naturally. Everyone has to practise and under the right conditions he will be able to see.
Even if you are highly enlightened last life you still have to practise again just that it'll be quicker. You cannot be born enlightened unless you are 8th bhumi (if I remember).Originally posted by Eric Cartman:Don't assume things like you are a psychic.
Well what if I was a past life practitioner.
I attended a catholic cell group when I was very young and they taught me how to meditate and they told us to grab a bundle of hair asked us if we could count how many strands of hair we had in our hands and they told us God knows. That made me become mindful of things without thinking. And then I told you this before I suddenly stared at my palm until I saw something coming out of my hand and then I looked at the walls thinking where I was at and what I was doing there (I was in my living room).Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Even if you are highly enlightened you still have to practise again just that it'll be quicker. What you mean born againWhat are you asking?
I was extraordinary when I was young. I looked at those kids of my age and I wondered if they were just pretending to be stupid or if they were really stupid. Until primary 3 or 4 I got really convinced that they were really stupid and so I decided to see what being stupid like them was so fun so I acted like them. I made sounds out loud when playing with toys just like the stupid kids. I tried to make friends. And it got downhill from there.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:And anyway 8th bhumi people behave very extraordinarily even when they are young. They are not like mundane people and do not have the bad habits of mundane people. And therefore they also won't be obsessed with things like supernatural powers. So I don't think you are one.
So have you gotten lucky without having to tell your school teacher you teach them how to talk like this?Originally posted by Eric Cartman:I was extraordinary when I was young. And also I told my mother that I was no ordinary kid when I was like 4 or 5 because my mother seemed to treat me like I was supposed to be an idiot. Also one day I told her I could see things without pointing the black part of my eyes to it I could see things at the corner of my eyes and she couldn't believe it.

Anyway if you are stage 5 or 6 when you are young, then you have to be stage 5 or 6 right now. And you have no doubt about dharma and knows in real time, intuitively, not just conceptually, things like:Originally posted by Eric Cartman:what if I already am at stage 5 or 6 since I was very little, and I just didnt mention those things you guys described cos I thought every other human could see them naturally?
# The arahat knows in real time and directly what is meant by such phrases and concepts as:(source: http://www.interactivebuddha.com/arahats.html)
1. "in the thinking is only the thought, in the seeing is only the seen, etc."
2. intrinsic luminosity
3. the emptiness of phenomena
4. that Nibbana is found in Samsara
5. and a whole host of other poetic metaphors and attempts as description.
A lot of things leh.. for example he could enter the first jhana (I believe it was vipassana jhana) at the age of 5, he was extremely compassionate for animals (he saved a deer or something like that from being killed by his cousin devadatta) and many many things. I didnt know those things, but I dont mean I have to be an arhat.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:(source: http://www.interactivebuddha.com/arahats.html)
If you say you are very sure you know all these in real time, then I don't think you are being honest with yourself and us.
First jhana just means you can concentrate on an object. Compassion for animals I dont know.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:A lot of things leh.. for example he could enter the first jhana (I believe it was vipassana jhana) at the age of 5, he was extremely compassionate for animals (he saved a deer or something like that from being killed by his cousin devadatta) and many many things. Seeing something coming out of your hand is just a visionary illusion. It has nothing to do with understanding ultimate reality or anything to do with mindfulness.

Oh yeah and I used to think in images when young and then one day I realised that others seem to be thinking differently so I asked them how they think, and they gave me answers like "just think lor".......
First jhana does not mean you can concentrate on an object. Please read what Buddha said about first jhana.Originally posted by Eric Cartman:First jhana just means you can concentrate on an object. Compassion for animals I dont know.
Comparing with stage 5 and 6 or even any stages.Originally posted by Eric Cartman:And why are you comparing me to buddha? I'm not saying I'm going to be buddha this life.
I looked up wiki and it says The five hindrances have completely disappeared and intense unified bliss remains. Only the subtlest of mental movement remains - perceiveable in its absence by those who have entered the second Jhāna. The ability to form unwholesome intentions cease.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:First jhana does not mean you can concentrate on an object. Please read what Buddha said about first jhana.
