Hello Bea,Originally posted by Bea:Have any of you gone through this kind of "faith crisis" so to speak?
MMM as i don't really understand the "issues" you are refering to. It could be one complicated matters. Find a friend to talk about your problems ? Or taking a break out of everythings and coming back to it later.Originally posted by Bea:but here goes...
I was raised in a Baptist church. Recently I've began having "issues."
This just no longer seems like enough spiritually. I just need something deeper. The problem is there is nobody to talk to about this. I feel like if I go to a church leader, they'll just be trying to sell me their religion. If i go to my family, it will be basically the same thing. Have any of you gone through this kind of "faith crisis" so to speak? Where do you go for answers to these kinds of questions. I just feel like my soul is restless, if that makes sense. I'm not content to just go on the way things have been. Any help would be great.

If I were you.. I would certainly keep an open mind, and found out more about what I want to find out... since you posted in the Buddhist forum I presume you like to find out about Buddhism... if you do, go ahead.. find out what Buddhism is about with an open mind.Originally posted by Bea:but here goes...

Kalama SutraBy the way if you have any issues you would like to share or discuss.. we can do so in this forum.
"Rely not on the teacher/person, but on the teaching. Rely not on the words of the teaching, but on the
spirit of the words. Rely not on theory, but on experience.Do not believe in anything simply because you
have heard it. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. Do
not believe anything because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything because it is
written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and
elders. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is
conducive to the good and the benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."
