A good friend just told me to slow down for a bit and to cherish every moment of my life. Don't ever trade in health for money and then try to buy back your health with the money you've made.
Many of us work too hard and forget that our bodies are impermanent. We think we are young forever, that the skins of our bodies will forever be this taut and this glossy. Before we know it, our bodies will start to show signs of crumbling. So take care of yourself well every day of your lives. Don't wait until you are old and grey before you start exercising and eating healthily.
Yes. Health is more important than wealth... for without health, wealth means nothing for us. (If the doctor tells you you had certain diseases or cancer, your billions of dollars would not make you happy and neither will you have the mood to spend them)
But also, "wisdom-life" (hui ming) is even more important than our physical life. This is because our physical body is short and fleeting, and there are only four aspects we can carry on to the next life: Wisdom, Blessings, Karmic Strength and Conditions. Wisdom is most important because it serves as our guiding compass no matter which incarnation we are born again in the future. Also furthermore without prajna wisdom, there cannot be liberation and bliss, without wisdom we'll be stuck in unnecessary sufferings, so we have to cultivate prajna wisdom.
The physical body/physical health is also very important, for we must not waste this precious human life for cultivation of the dharma. Therefore taking care of health is highly recommended to preserve this body for cultivating the dharma and to avoid any future health problems as we age.
