mm i can verifiy that repentance works. it is best to do repentance right after wrong thought, action and speech is being acted out. It helps to purify or lessens the bad karmic seeds. One can became more mindful of my intention now.
mmmm When im feeling depressed, i actually repent for my selfish desire. When one is sad, one is thinking mostly about themselves but then reality isn't really seemed as it is.... and it actually makes me feel better

The Emperor Liang Repentance
Perhaps the emperor is best known for being one of the co-authors of a major scripture in Chinese Buddhism. A major Buddhist repentance service is named after Emperor Wu. Titled the Emperor Liang Jeweled Repentance, the repentance records details the reasos behind his wife's transformation, examples of people affected by karma, stories about people recieving retribution, and what one can do to prevent it. The repentance also involves prostrations to a number of Buddhas.
Historically, Emperor Liang initiated this ceremony approximately 1500 years ago. His wife, Chi Hui, died at age of thirty after leading a life marked by jealousy and anger. After death, she had turned into a giant snake and purgatory she came to recognize that she needed prayer of the sangha to expiate her sins and release her soul from the lower realms. Through great generosity, Emperor Liang requested Master Bao Zhi and other high monastics to write ten chapters of the repentance. As a result of performing this ceremony, his wife's soul was indeed released from its suffering.
Today, it is performed annually in many Buddhist temples, usually during the Qingming Festival or the Ghost Festival.

As Buddhist, we should practise not getting angry with others, even they might be unreasonable. Since u have been advocating the "da cheng" tradition, the more you should try treat this opportunity to learn to control yourself and be more patient. i counted to 10 of reciting Amitabha .... its true sometime we go caught up by sneering eyes of people when u are in the edge of finding a job hard
when your boss terminate you just becos u are "not " to his liking

I feel happy for you as u have at least stop clinging to ur own ego and open to other people's feedback which can definitely help to level-up ur cultivation.
Being humble is a also virtue when come to learning and sharing buddhism.
Sincere repentances comes with making an effort not to make the same mistakes again.
