Biography of Prof Cheng
Professor Zheng, a renowned practitioner, at present both the Standing
Director & Chief Editor of Torch of Wisdom Buddhist Association, Taiwan,
is actively involved in Dharma propagation activities in Taiwan, different
states of America and South East Asia. These activities included of Dharma
Talks, Workshops and Meditation Retreat.
Not only has Professor Zheng been renowned in Buddhism philosophies and
practices, he had published more than 500 news articles and 20 books. Some
of these included the translated Chinese versions such as Tibetan Book of
Living and Dying, by H.H. the Dalai Lama at Harvard; Consciousness at
Crossroads; Anapanasati; Zen in the Martial Arts; Beginning to See and
Mind Like Fire Unbound. -

It is a brief intro about the historic background and comparisons of the 3 yanas. Maybe a little dry for some but can be quite educating for others.

Yeah the sound system wasn't very good & heard their projector had some problems. Yea it was a little academic, I'm surprised that so many people poured questions at the end. Apparently these people have been listening and paying attention!
I think Prof Cheng is a rare example of someone who's accomplished in both Buddhist studies as well as practice. Yet he's a very humble man. Too bad this time only got to attend this lecture. Next time should try to attend his smaller-scale workshop which emphasizes both on view and practice. -

I think he shortened the comparisons due to time constriant. He stopped at hui (wisdom). I did not sit through the Q&A. -
