4am -the beginning of day activity with the stiking of the ban (wood)
means the beginning of the day
I feeling quite laze to wake up ,as i cant get to bed the previous nite as i was listening to dharma cd till 12:30am
but hearing the striking of wood ,its better to wake up ,as Monastery vinaya rules is laid down by Patriach of the Chinese Mahayana ,that there is karmic consequence for not abiding
chanting at 5am is a good challenge at a moist 12 degree taipei bei tou nong chan monastery ,
I have to don the refuge robe and the chanting hall is very much like the korean one - small and marbled flooring
